Take a temporary backup so that all your confidential data will remain save in case of any failure takes place.

If you find your hard drive completely dead then you can buy a new one form market as on very reasonable cost.

Askpcexperts advice you to check your hard drive with a new hard drive, you can assume your old and new hard drives as Master- Slave circuit.

Assume that fresh drive as a master and the old one is as slave. Now boot the PC and install Windows on the fresh drive. If that circuit works than PC will detect the old drive and now you can move your data to the fresh drive.

Restoring a hard drive is more complex than the other functions. However, if you forfeit to get your work done, it may not be lucrative.

You might be happier exchanging a fresh drive. Therefore if you are risk-taking, and you have sufficient time, shifting the hard drive may be valuable.
