Want a Fast Computer - Perform a SYSTEM CLEAN-UP

  1. Is your PC slowing down?
  2. Programs don’t run as fast as they used to?
  3. It takes longer to boot up system?
  4. Takes forever to shut down?
  5. PC letting you down when you need it the most?

One of our most recent customers was facing the above problems. She insisted that her system was working perfectly few days back but recently it had developed the above problems and would just not work. With the latest and updated Virus scan she couldn’t find any reason for her system to function so slow and difficult.

So she called us at Ask PC Experts and the following happened:

With normal check up of the drives and amount of space available in each drive, the content in the drives and the content occupying maximum space in the drive we found the cause. The problem was caused was due to presence of a large number of unused/unneeded files, temporary files and the Registry.

System Cleanup for a Faster PC - Ask PC Experts

Unused/Unneeded files: Files which are not needed by the system or yourself for any applications. Files which were installed while installing certain applications and have no use today. Files that were loaded in your system while running any online application.

Temporary Files/Cookies: Every time we download a file or an application a temporary file/folder is created in the system. Also, cookies are built up in the system when we surf on the web. These temporary files/cookies are plenty in numbers and occupy a lot of space within the system with time.

Registry: the registry is a system-defined database used by the Windows operating system to store configuration information. Most Windows applications write data to the registry during installation and system components store and retrieve configuration data through the registry. The data stored in the registry varies from system to system. Over a period of time the size of the same increases due to presence of many entries not required. The more the number of entries in the registry the longer it takes for the system to find things and hence the system becomes slow.

To be able to remove the above we suggested her for a System Clean Up which would enable the deletion of all the above not required files which were occupying too much space in the system.

There are various software packages available for system clean up. For one point system clean up they serve as an easier medium of system clean up. System Clean Up tools are also inbuilt in the OS. From there itself the system can be cleaned to improve efficiency and also keep the system healthy.

PC Crashed? Online Support to Get Data from Hard-Disk

We regularly receive customer testimonials for the online support service that we provide to them. Here is an experience from a customer, where the hard drive had crashed and she urgently wanted to back some data from the disk.

Backup Data from Crashed PC Get Data from Crashed Computer

Talking about computer crash, it has been one of the most troublesome experiences until I got help to solve it! I think I know a bit about the system and can comfortably add an additional hard-disk to the system and transfer my data from it to the system. But it dint prove to be that simple. After I attached the additional hard-dish to the original system it simply refused to turn on. I tried everything I could, from switching off to switching on, making the plugs tight, ensuring the mother board etc is properly connected and not loose. Well this is the basic I have known. But this time none of this helped. I got rid of the hard-disk and tired to turn the system on without the hard-disk, after all its my uncles system. If it doesn’t work am screwed. And what you expect to happen just happened, it refused to work. Nothing could be more troublesome.

Then I called Ask PC experts. Less I had hoped but I came to finding some good help for myself. The guy told me to quit everything and get into the BIOS and find out if the PC actually could identify my hard-disk. It dint. So this was the original problem. Then we shut down the system and checked the wiring of the system. I could explain only in form of colors and to my surprise he could understand what I really meant. The moment I did so and switched on the system, Aha it was on! Now, one problem solved, but the second was still on my mind. The problem that I had to transfer the personal data from the hard-disk and return to the office. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought. He asked me to first and foremost check for the small pin – he called it a jumper pin, at the back of the hard disk near the power connection plugs are put. I replaced the pin and connected the drive as instructed. Then we switched on the system, fingers crossed, and it worked! The systems not only worked but also identify my hard-disk. I could comfortably read, write and edit now from it. I could transfer my data and it was all so simply resolved. All thanks to Ask PC Experts.
