Everyone knows that caffeine is what a nudge is to a sleeping dog. Caffeine jolts and that’s what is the idea that attracted Google to codename its latest innovation in its already popular search technology.

Considered to be a top-secret upgrade to Google’s search engine technology, Caffeine is fashioned to assist surfers to search the World Wide Web faster, while returning more pertinent results with superior accuracy and comprehensiveness. Since the latest upgrade sits within the sleeve of the Google Search machine, Google officials say that majority of users wouldn’t immediately detect a big difference in their search findings.

FLASH DRIVES IN NEW AVATAR !
Which one’s better 2-bits per cell or 3 bits? The latter one, of course. The recent cooperative venture between Intel and Micron IM Flash Technologies proclaimed that they have come up with a 3-bit-per-cell NAND device that Micron would start producing for commercial use coming fall. The latest 3bpc technology hoards more bits per cell than current technology and facilitates the development of higher density flash memory so it can stock up more data in less space.

With the onset of 3bpc technology, chip manufacturers would be able to create USB thumb drives and solid state drives with a better storage capacity. If measured, the 3 bits per cell is a direct 50% increase from the standard 2 bits per cell, which means an 8 GB USB thumb drive can now stack 12 GB of data without any increase in the size of the device. This process of storage also reduces the cost per flash bit so that the 12 GB USB drive would be roughly equivalent in cost to the 8 GB flash drive! Exciting deal! Isn’t it?

KIDS ON A PORN SEARCH SPREE !
If I told you that "sex" & "porn" are amongst the top ten most-searched items, would your jaw actually drop? That’s precisely a recent survey of children's web habits revealed to the world of concerned parents.

The interesting data was gleaned from security firm Symantec's web-monitoring service for parents, OnlineFamily.Norton that logged webpage visits. The websites that topped the lists included YouTube, search engines Google and Yahoo, along with social media sites Facebook & MySpace in that order.

The survey by Symantec examined 3.5 million searches between February 2008 & July 2009. One unexpected term in the top 10 is "Fred" - the internet name for a young performer whose YouTube channel is a favorite among young web users.

The question to ask is have we all gotten over our shock that the Web has porn?

CHILDREN'S TOP SEARCH TERMS

1. YouTube             6. Porn
2. Google               7. Yahoo
3. Facebook           8. Michael Jackson
4. Sex                    9. Fred (YouTube star)
5. MySpace           10. eBay
