Twitter, the world’s most trafficked micro-blogging and social networking portal experienced Internet attack on Thursday and was down for almost 2 hours. Users reported degraded site experience and applications like Facebook and other social networking sites were not able to function properly.

No clarity is there as to who coordinated the attack against Twitter and with what motives. However, it is considered that a popularity of a website often motivates such cyber threats. Cyber Security experts on the other hand have indicated financial motives could not be ruled out in case of such attacks. Twitter was reported to have 44 million unique visitors in the month of June alone.

Sony Ericsson to Launch Jalou
Sony has always been a melting pot of tech marvels and again it is show time for all gizmo freaks.

Preparations are on full swing to give finishing touches to Jalou, Sony Ericsson’s full touch phone.

Sony Ericsson’s Jalou smart phone would have a technological focus on Symbian Foundation, Android and Windows mobile. The Spy shot of the phone indicates a very beautiful and believable design not to mention several features like GPS, Wi-Fi and some kind of HSDPA on board.

Though the world is anxiously waiting for Sony’s high tech phones like Satio, Aino or XPERIA X2 to hit retail markets, the sneaky details about Jalou touchphone has started brewing another wonder storm among gadget lovers.

Google nibbles a tiny Startup
In another bid to position itself as a larger-than-a-search firm image, Google announced its decision to buy a small but highly innovative video technology company ‘On2 Technologies Inc’ on Wednesday.

On2 Technologies Inc is an almost 50 employee company in New York’s Capitol Region that has mastered the technique of video compression and its distribution in small files.

On the occasion of acquisition, Matthew Frost, the company's interim chief executive and a longtime employee, remarked, "It's a pretty heady experience, and "For a small technology company, being acquired by Google is one of a small number of dreams you can have.”

Google would be paying around $106.5 million for acquisition of On2 Technologies Inc.

The work underlies well-known technologies such as Skype, Adobe Flash Player and video chat services.
