GOOGLE LOGO MYSTERY DEEPENS!

Google is well known to change its logos commemorating special days, historical events or holidays. On 5th September, it released a logo, a mysterious doodle in fact, where an alien UFO is actually shown carrying off the second ‘O’ letter from Google word.

Everyone who saw the logo got confused as to the intent and symbolism behind this doodle. Normally a mouse-over on the Google logo led to some tool tip. This time it was not the case. Was it telling users to simply gogle now? Some felt it sounded close to act of ogling. Even right clicking on the logo image to save it led you to a "Go_gle.gif" filename, amusingly ironic since the alien spacecraft is seen making off with the second 'O'.

Surfers who checked Google Trends on 5th September morning saw “Unexplained Phenomenon” as the uppermost search item. People all over the world tried to relate this date with the Roswell UFO crash incident in Mexico, but facts confirmed a different month altogether. Some really deep searches on Google led to the discovery that Exeter in New Hampshire was organizing its first UFO festival on September 5, Monday this year. Various UFO sightings were reported in this little coastal town of Exeter and it became known as “Roswell of the East Coast” Too many other punches into the keyboard didn’t afford any other historical event of unexplained, mysterious nature held on September 5 that could be linked to Google logo.

Those of us who checked and followed Google on Twitter, found the following cryptic message: “1.12.12 25.15.21.18 15 1.18.5 2.5.12.15.14.7 20.15 21.19″. Deciphering this jumbled meme became easy when you plugged this pattern A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on. The code finally read as All your o are belong to us”.

Amidst wild, uncapped guess, what has Google to say about this doodle mystery? Well, the Mountain View Company declared "We consider the second 'o' critical to user recognition of our brand and pronunciation of our name. We are actively looking into the mysterious tweet that has appeared on the Google twitter stream and the disappearance of the 'o' on the Google home page. We hope to have an update in the coming weeks." What can you say on this? Is this any less mysterious statement?
